Player Registration Instructions – New This Year!
As interest in the ComedySportz World Championship (CWC) continues to grow year after year, the World Comedy League (WCL) has enacted two new procedures to make sure currently performing players have priority access to all CWC events.
PLAYER STATUS
You will be asked to identify if you will be attending as a Full, Player in Training, Independent or Guest Attendee. The difference between these classifications is explained in the table below.
SPONSORING CITY
This refers to the city on which you are currently or were last affiliated. Your registration with tournament is contingent on sponsorship by a city in good standing with the WCL. If there is a problem with your registration, you will be contacted by either the Hosting City or your listed Sponsoring City.

Full Attendee

Description:
Currently performing on the pro team of the sponsoring city.
Access:
- Meetings: Required to attend morning meetings.
- Workshops: Access to first registration period. Priority Placement.
- Social Events: Invited to CWC social events / parties.
- Performing: Authorized to play shows as scheduled by sponsoring city.
- Shows: Expected to watch all CWC matches.
Player in Training
$90.00
Description:
Currently rostered with a pro team but haven’t yet begun performing as a pro player.
Access:
- Meetings: Required to attend morning meetings.
- Workshops: Access to first registration period. Will be placed after current players.
- Social Events: Invited to CWC social events / parties.
- Performing: Not authorized to play.
- Shows: Expected to watch all CWC matches.
Independent Attendee
$90.00
Description:
Currently disconnected from sponsoring city (i.e. Moved away, became an Alumnus, etc.).
Access:
- Meetings: Required to attend morning meetings.
- Workshops: Access to second registration period. Placement subject to availability.
- Social Events: Invited to CWC social events / parties.
- Performing: Not authorized to play.
- Shows: Expected to watch all CWC matches.
Guest Attendee
$75.00
Description:
Guest on behalf of a sponsoring city (i.e. A spouse, etc.).
Access:
- Meetings: Not invited to morning meetings.
- Workshops: Not invited to workshops.
- Social Events: Invited to CWC social events / parties.
- Performing: Not authorized to play.
- Shows: Registration fee includes a free pass to attend all CWC matches in the player seating area. Attendance optional.
